Welcome to Gladeholm — we’re so glad you’re here. This little guide has everything you need for an easy, comfortable stay. If anything is missing or unclear, just call — we’re close by.

• Getting in: the key will be in the door — just let yourself in.
• Parking: free parking on site.
• Arriving late? No problem — the key is in the door, so arrive whenever suits you.

Your apartment — where to find things

Comfort & everyday

• Hairdryer, iron & other extra supplies: in the kitchen cupboard.
• Spare towels: in the bathroom.
• First-aid kit: at the entrance to the winery, on the left under the staircase.

Kitchen & climate

• The kitchen is fully equipped; everyday extras are in the right-hand cupboard.
• Heating: automatic, computer-controlled underfloor heating — already set to a comfortable temperature, so there’s nothing for you to adjust. If you however need more heating than normal, please ask us for extra radiators.
• Hot water: a standing 100 litres, available at all times.
• Bathroom: fresh towels are provided.

House rules & good to know

• This is a non-smoking home — you’re very welcome to smoke outside.
• Dogs are welcome in the Artist Studio; we generally try to keep the Writers House free from animals for allergy reasons. Gladeholm and the neighbouring Stenshuvud National Park are sanctuaries home to many red-listed species, so please keep dogs on a leash outdoors.
• Please take care with candles & open flame.

• Fire: each apartment has at least one 6 kg fire extinguisher and two automatic fire alarms; the electrical central has automatic powder sprinklers inside.
• First aid: a kit is at the entrance to the winery (left, under the staircase); a larger kit with an AED defibrillator is in the large white house.
• Health centre: Vårdcentral, Brösarp
• Pharmacy: Apotek, Brösarp
• Emergency hospital: Kristianstad

Here at Gladeholm

• Orchard & botanic garden: wander our organic cider orchard and garden freely — keep an eye (and ear) out for tawny owls and tree frogs at dusk.
• Cider & juice: our own organic cider and apple juice (50 cl), from the farm shop at the entrance to the winery — see our Shop page for the full range.
• The studio: the 70 m² sprung-floor studio is free for guests to use — yoga, training or whatever you fancy.
• Bicycles: borrow our bikes — they’re kept to the left of the small white house. Österlen has amazing roads — ask us for some ideas on where to go.

• Stenshuvud National Park — coastal hills, woodland & beaches.
• Havång & the coast — wild beaches and rolling meadows.
• Beaches: Vitemölla & Knäbäckshusen, among the finest on the coast.

Landmarks & culture

• Ales Stenar — the dramatic stone ship at Kåseberga.
• Kungagraven — the Bronze Age royal tomb at Kivik.
• Kivik — apple country & Kiviks Musteri; Simrishamn & Ystad for harbours, shops & galleries.
• Österlen is famous for its art galleries & studios — ask us for current favourites.

Eat & drink

• Cafés & restaurants: these change with the season — you’ll find a list of our current favourite places on the table in the apartment.
• Bakery: Södra Mellby, by the church.
• Groceries: nearest supermarket in Kivik, about 2.5 km away.
• Farm shop: our own cider & juice at the winery entrance.

Getting around

• By car: the easiest way to explore; free parking on site.
• EV charging: available on request — at the first lamp-post towards the botanic garden.
• By bus: the nearest stop is Mellby Skola.
• By bike: borrow our bikes (to the left of the small white house) — quiet lanes & marked routes everywhere.

Before you leave

• Check-out by 11:00.
• Cleaning is included — we do however appreciate any help keeping the apartment tidy. Cleaning equipment is available under the staircase at the entrance to the winery.
• Close the windows and switch off the lights (the heating is automatic — no need to touch it).
• Leave the key in the door.
