GLADEHOLM -- HISTORIC ORCHARD -- SANCTUARY
GLADEHOLM
ABOUT
Located 105 meters above the ocean on the hills at the edge of the Stenshuvud National Park. The name Gladeholm originates from the bird Röd Glada ( Red Kite – Milvus Milvus ) which on windy days can be seen slowly gliding above the trees surrounding the farm.
HISTORY
THE heritage of nature
Over 100 years ago the first trees were planted at Gladeholm as coverage against the strong winterstorms. As time passed houses were added in the center of the property in traditional Scania style with four houses and an innercourtyard protecting humans and animals from the harsh winter season. Gladeholm passed from generation to generation and slowly developed into a full apple orchard.
